As I begin to plan new programs for 2012, I wanted to ask what people really want/need to hear about. Any suggestions for Webinar topics??

Here are some I came up with for Marketing related ideas:

1)      Local Website or Page

Give tips and advice on to make your website more search engine friendly and what you can do to appear on the first page for local searches.

2)      Social Presence

Learn the ins and outs of promoting on social networks like Facebook , LinkedIn and Twitte ( It’s not about the “Likes”  as much as it is driving engagement with Interactive objects and targeting Influencers).

3)      Directory Listings

Hear about setting up a Google Places page, why it is important and what having one does for your business… Learn about the different directories and how they play a big role in Googles relatively new search algorithm, why encouraging online reviews are important and how to drive local traffic to your site.

4)      Mobile Web Destination

Unlock the full potential of the increasing number of mobile searchers by converting them into paying customers through mobile friendly interfaces.

5)      Direct Email Marketing

Learn how to make the most of your mailing lists and what you can do to ensure high click-through and conversion rates.

How about networking with other franchisees in my local area. Chance to cross promote, or get together in person?

I often hear questions about HR-related issues -- I wonder if best practices for hiring and, yes, firing, might interesting? Or something else in the human resources area?

Michelle,  this is a great suggestion.   There are so many collaborative or fusion marketing opportunities with local business.   It's relative inexpensive and it allows multiple business to leverage each other'

 databases to grow.

Matt, Social presence is huge right now.  And you are correct it's not about "likes".   I find that having a strong social media presence can amplify the effect of your other more traditional marketing methods.  I believe that's where the power of social media lies.

You could run a series on it this, certain parts on the how to's, another on how to create engagement, lastly how to use social media to leverage you other marketing strategies.

Matt's question put another way:

*  For Franchisors - What's one webinar topic that, if presented extremely well, would make a big difference for your Franchisees?

*  For Franchisees - What's one webinar topic that would span the gap between the support that your Franchisor provides and what you need?

Thank you.
